SAN DIEGO, 3:34 p.m. Sept. 26 (SIGNONSANDIEGO): The median price of an existing home in the San Diego region in August was $616,870, nearly unchanged from July but 6.5 percent higher than the same period a year ago, a Realtors group reported Monday.

Firefighters Beat Back Wildfire Near L.A. LOS ANGELES - Hundreds of people were allowed to return home Friday as firefighters gained ground against a 20,000-acre wildfire that cast such a smoky haze over the city that drivers turned on their headlights in the middle of the day.
